Program Note
In this film, Jimi Kim plays Jungsook in her own version of [Madam Freedom]. She portrays a naive, but passionate housewife who falls into a dangerous affair. In her 13th year of marriage, Jungsook meets a debauched Jang Jaesuk at a dance hall. As she falls for Jaesuk, who had initially approached her for money, she struggles with ethical conflicts, and Jaesuk himself gradually falls in love with her. The ending of the film parallels that of [Madam Freedom], in which the heroine seeks forgiveness from her husband, re-sealing the dangerous yearnings of these women. (JOO You-shin)
