Program Note
Hua Mingxing is a Korean-Chinese boy living in a border village, whose father is always disappearing. He goes to a nail shop his father had apparently frequented to find him. When he finds his father back home like nothing had happened, Mingxing tells him that he wants to go to Korea.

WEI Shujun
Born in Beijing, started his career as an actor at just 14 years old. He completed a master’s degree at the Communication University of China. His previous films include the rap documentary Said in the Forbidden City (2011) and Hancheng Color (2013). Duck Neck (2016), his first feature film, was screened in 2016 BIFF.
