Program Note
Men in a refugee camp work at a nearby factory to make a living. Then one day a fence is built around the camp. The men secretly hop over the fence to go to work every day, but the fence keeps getting higher and higher. The film shows how human dignity is destroyed in a society cut off by a border. Lucy GAFFY
Lucy Gaffy is an award-winning graduate of the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) with a Graduate Diploma in Directing in 2010 and a Master of Screen Arts in 2012. In 2010 she received an AFI nomination for her film The Love Song of Iskra Prufrock. Her films include The Love Song of Iskra Prufrock(2010), The Gift(2011) and The Fence(2013).
