Program Note
‘American Alley’ a military campsite town, continues to accept new people. The ‘entertainers’ from the Philippines and Russia, the old women who cannot leave, and the women who continue to reside there must struggle against the world. The documentary does not lead the viewer to a particular direction using sensational images of the military campsite town. Through the documentary, the viewer encounters a space that has changed, as if searching for the director’s hidden message. (HONG Hyosook)
