Program Note
A conversation with Ingmar Bergman, honorary president for Goteborg Film Festival, with its current director (Bergdahl) about films, filmmakers, Strindberg, ageing and a host of other topics. To quote Bergdahl: “In November 2001, I had the pleasure to once again meet with Ingmar Bergman...His energy and creativity are still intact, even though he [was] 84 [that] summer. He still screens all Swedish films in his own theatre in Faro, and he is still writing new scripts -- he himself will direct one, Anna, for Swedish television this fall. And he has a lot of plans.”
