Program Note
Everybody is against wars. However, there is always a war going on. There are people who live on the battlefield and others who live around the war as if it is only a part of their lives. They have become numb towards the violence and pass their days forgetting the war itself. A few young people, who experienced the war as a part of the Zaytun military, confess the changes of thoughts they have had since their experience in a war. Their interviews are presented in parallel with the lives of people who live the war as part of their daily lives in Iraq and Palestine to make us realize that our lives are not far from the threat of a war. We have considered the war as part of the news unrelated to us, every time the government dispatches troops. The film tells the reality of ours lives directly involved to the war in a calm and steady manner. (HONG Hyosook)
