Program Note
This film is a study of the psychology of a child′s soul who is in the process of adapting to unfarmiliar and unaccustomed environment. A cardiogram reveals the heart disease endured by a 12-year-old boy. His mother takes him from Kazak village to the children′s sanatorium and leaves him in the company of strangers. It is hard for him to live there because he doesn′t know the rules of this culture, different from his home life. The boy doesn′t speak Russian and can′t understand his classmates. It′s impossible to cure heart disease if your soul suffers from loneliness and misunderstanding. The boy should adapt to his new circumstances without loosing himself during the course of one month - the one lunar cycle. This rotation means not only returning to one′s initial position in life but a cycle for trying to understand the surrounding world. The boy manages to overcome his mute manner, and returns home mature. (Saida Tursunova)
