Opnce upon a time,in a small villiage,somewhere in Africa... A little voice is heaard from inside the womb of a pregnant women:"Mother,give birth to me!""A child who can speak from his mother's womb can give birth to himself"replies the mother.And so a little boy is born into an African willage upon which a sorceress called Karrba has cast a terrible spell:the spring is dried up,villagers are being ransomed,and the men of the village have been eaten up by the sorceress.Karaba is a stunning and cruel woman,surrounded by obedient and ferocious fetishes.But no sooner has Kirikou delivered himself from his mother's womb,than he wants to rid the leads kirikou to the Forbidden Mountain,where the Wise Man of the Mountain,who knows of Karaba and her secrets,awaits him.Will Kirikou succeed in delivering his village frim the terrible curse?

Born on the Côte d`Azur and raised in Guinea and Anjou, Michel Ocelot has become one of the world`s most respected animators. He serves as president of the Association Internationale du Film d`Animation (ASIFA), a position he has held for the last six years. Among his films are [The Three Inventors] (1980), [Les Quatre voeux] (1987), [Kirikou and the Sorceress] (1998), [ Princes and Princesses] (2000), and [Kirikou et les bêtes sauvages] (2005).
