Official Poster

The poster for the 10th Pusan International Film Festival is "Princess Youh-hwa and Her Sisters" by artist LEE Man-ik. The Youh-hwa of this themed painting is an actual historical figure from the national myth of Goguryeo, and is the eldest of the three daughters of Habaek, the god of rivers. She grew up to be free-spirited like her sisters Wihwa (爲花) and Hwonhwa (萱花), fell in love with a man named Haemosu, and had a son, Jumong, who founded Goguryeo. Jumong could establish the foundations of Goguryeo with strength and wisdom despite the hardships he had to go through among the seven sons of King Geumwa from the teachings and the power of love from Youh-hwa. This poster expresses the love and vigor of the three sisters that harmonizes with nature through a representation of them as young maidens. The poster delivers a wish for the free-sprited and robust attitude of the Youh-hwa sisters to be present in creating the foundation for the global development of the Pusan International Film Festival.
