Philippe GARREL
Born in Paris, France, Philippe GARREL is one of the most representative Nouvelle Vague filmmakers and the son of French actor Maurice GARREL. He directed numerous films, including Le Lit de la Vierge (1969), which occupies an important position in the French cinema, La Cicatrice intérieure (1970), L’Enfant secret (1979), La Naissance de l’amour (1993), Wild Innocence (2001), and Regular Lovers (2005), which earned him the Silver Lion at the Venice International Film Festival. His films Frontier of the Dawn (2008), That Summer (2011), Jealousy (2013), and In the Shadow of Women (2014) were introduced to the Korean audiences through BIFF, and Lover for a Day (2017) won the SACD Prize in Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival.
