Majid MAJIDI
Born in Tehran in 1959, Majid Majidi was the lead actor in Fleeing from Evil to God (1984), Two Blind Eyes (1984), and Boycott (1985). After having his directorial debut Baduk (1991) presented at Cannes Directors’ Fortnight, his second feature Father (1995) received the Prize of the Jury at San Sebastian Film Festival, Children of Heaven (1997) the Grand Prix des Amériques, People’s Choice Award, the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury at Montreal World Film Festival, and The Song of Sparrows (2008) the Silver Bear for Best Actor at Berlin International Film Festival. Sun Children (2020) won the Marcello Mastrioanno Award at Venice Film Festival.
