Se-hoon (Yoon Hyun-soo) is a model student with good grades, but an unfortunate incident on the bus one day earns him the humiliating nickname of ‘Erector.’ The choir director, Won-dae (Choi Woo-sung), asks him to be his running mate for the upcoming student council election. Needing to rehabilitate his image, Se-hoon agrees, only to find out that he is Won-dae’s twelfth running mate. With his pride bruised, Se-hoon decides to join Sang-hyun (Lee Jung-sic), a walking luxury man known as the local social butterfly. I am a Running Mate, marks the directorial debut of Writer HAN Jin-won, co-author of Parasite. The series blends political drama with a cram-school story about the transformation of a model student. The young actors Yoon Hyun-soo, Lee Jung-sic, Choi Woo-sung, Hong Hwa-yeon, and Lee Bong-jun enhance the charm of their characters with their energetic performances. (SONG Kyung-won)
