Jin Xia works at the security checkpoint of Incheon Port Passenger Terminal. One day she encounters a green-haired girl who captures her attention. In need of money to escape her husband, she goes on an adventure with the green-haired girl, who is Chinese-Korean drug dealer Dong’s lover and a drug mule. The unpredictable and free-spirited green-haired girl leads the hesitant Jin Xia forward. Following her debut film Summer Blur, which portrayed the delicate and nuanced emotions of an adolescent girl, won the FIPRESCI Award in the New Currents section at the 2020 Busan International Film Festival, director Han Shuai returns with a road movie about women as her second feature. Starring Fan Bingbing and Lee Joo Young, Green Night paints a compelling journey of two women exposed to the harsh reality of poverty and sexual violence.
