A Korean-born man finds himself stuck in Columbus, Indiana, where his architect father is in a coma. The man meets a young woman who wants to stay in Columbus with her mother, a recovering addict, instead of pursuing her own dreams. Columbus is a 2017 American drama film written, directed, and edited by Kogonada in his feature directorial debut. It is beautifully captured human story with realistic situations and issues that everyone can sympathize with. Along with gorgeous sceneries showcasing architectures of Columbus, Kogonada’s meticulous thought-out screenplay, and tremendous performance by John Cho, Haley Lu Richardson, and Parker Posey make Columbus, a brutally honest drama, so memorable.
