Sanae goes to prison after she fails in an attempt to murder her boyfriend. Six years later, she meets and marries Kenta, a forestry worker. Their marriage takes a new turn when the wife of Sanae’s ex-boyfriend shows up at the door. Sanae hasn’t gotten over her ex-boyfriend, and Kenta finds it hard to deal with her. The movie challenges the belief that only your love is special and that you can save the other person. Sanae and Kenta are two people who initially have very different ideas about love, but they gradually share the same attributes. Eventually, love becomes a morbid obsession and they create a myth that death completes love. After the Fever tells a story that is anything but predictable. The characters’ personalities are as unique as their actions are unexpected. It is irregular, explosive, and unconventional, but that is precisely what makes it so fascinating. (NAM Dong-chul)
