In the Great East Japan Earthquake, a young girl named Luca loses her family and is left with a disability that prevents her from speaking properly. She can, however, make her voice heard when she sings. When she remembers that her dead sister’s boyfriend is attending a university in Osaka, she travels there only to end up in an orphanage despite the best intentions of the people who care about her. Over time, Luca becomes Kyrie, a singer who sings on the streets. Her old friend Ikko, whom she meets by chance, offers to be her manager. Will Kyrie succeed as a singer with Ikko’s help? Iwai Shunji tells the story of heartbroken girls in this movie. The pain that begins with the death of a family member or a farewell leaves an indelible mark on their lives, and their desperate attempts to overcome it resonate in their songs. Real-life singer AiNA THE END plays Kyrie, and she is supported by a top-notch cast including Hirose Suzu, Kuroki Haru, and Matsumura Hokuto. (NAM Dong-chul)
