Teenager Adam lives with his mother in Poland, and longs for his father who’s gone missing following World War II. When the secret police arrive and torment his mother, he flees into a theater screening Godard’s Contempt (1963) and finds himself in the private chambers of Brigitte Bardot. The mysterious hotel is inhabited by fascinating characters from both fantasy and real life. Adam finds himself accompanied by Marlon Brando, Cézanne and The Beatles in his search for his father. Inspired by Homer’s Odyssey, which also structures Godard’s film, aesthete Lech Majewski conjures absurd yet beautiful visuals in Brigitte Bardot Forever, and creates an ode to all the once young boys and girls that dreamed of someone and yearned for something special in their lives.
