Blood and Rain, Jorge Navas’ debut film, is a stylized film noir set on the dark streets of Bogotá. As a fresh critique of the criminal status quo that reigns in Colombia, Blood and Rain serves as a vehicle for this genre to show the city’s inevitable and tragic political and moral reality. Nevertheless, Navas’ pessimistic vision allows for a ray of hope.
