Program Note
Ten housewives are selected for a televised reality program to choose the best mother. All with their own life stories, the contestants undergo all kinds of humiliation to win the cash prize and an apartment. Following the cooking contest held at a refugee village and a confrontation surrounding the bikini contest, conflicts escalate as the D-day looms, only to end up in tragedy. By cleverly arranging humor and blending calamities with criticism of the media and men’s perspective toward women, this satirical drama was well received at major film festivals including the Venice Film Festival.
