The story of four men in Manila goes on in the format of an omnibus. Ariel, a con-man, living on manipulating documents and deceiving women, encounters a girl Elgin, and faces the change of heart; Boy is busy to making money for his pregnant wife; Ronald comes to Manila to handle the inheritance his father left behind; Baste is worried about his sister, Elgin, who is dating a conman. Portraying the severe reality which doesn’t allow even for small dreams, this film captures the hope and despair of four men and their low lives in Manila. The complicated inner story goes on with a vividly dynamic camera work and a straightforward narrative. The respective characters are intertwined, but they don’t recognize each other like the indifferent city they are living in. (CHO Young-jung)
