Program Note
The first scene, where the street at Ehwa Women’s University and the female students are shown in a documentary style, shows Ha Kil-chong’s style of projecting desire and ideal of the youth. The main character who just moved to Seoul from the countryside dreams of something ‘urban,’ while staying in a boardinghouse with female students; however, his dream eventually becomes frustrating.
