Program Note
A film that shows the destruction of the environment by man′s greed... This documentary shows how wld animals are hunted down in the name of health. The few remaining wild tigers in China are pesis to famers but the Chinese government wants to protect the tigers. The Mountain Baekdu is being eroded by efforts to hunt down wild animals. Bears await their death in a cage too small for their size so that Korean tourists can drink the juice from their gall bladders. Their opaque eyes seem to tell us hat tne enu is near, not just for them but for all creatures on earth. This is a strong documentary that reminds us about the absolute preciousness of wild animals.
