Program Note
Nationally acclaimed dancer Sarojini and her daughter Aditi confront the distance amassed between them. Sarojini is enveloped in her art while Aditi sees herself as irrelevant in her mother′s world. Through flashbacks, the film explores Aditi′s relationship to her father and Sarojini′s alienation from her dead husband. Mother and daughter ask,"What does one live for and why?" In one day, they renew their understanding of life, each other and the inherent need to love. On a symbolic level, this film acts as a micro picture, a metaphor of India in a time of critical transition.
