Program Note
It is summertime in Denmark, and the Great House is bustling with activity as everyone is busily preparing an extravagant bash for the lord of the manor, Helge Klingenfeldt, on his sixtieth birthday. Family, friends and relatives gather for the celebration unaware that this carefully planned fete will turn out to be a "surprise" party. The oldest son, Christian, is summoned by Helge who asks him to say a few words on behalf of his twin sister Linda who died last year. Little does the master of the ceremony know that Christian is planning to say more than just a few words, that in fact, he is planning to reveal some nasty family secrets and ultimately, the reason for his sister′s untimely demise.
