Marguerite is the most recognized mathematics student at ‘école normale supérieure’. One day, she experiences a disruption at an important thesis presentation and changes the trajectory of her life. Math is all that she’s ever known, but suddenly she vows to never do it again. There are many ways to live in an infinite universe. Some people try to solve Goldbach’s Conjecture and get one step closer to the secrets of the universe, while most of us live quietly in our own corner of the universe. Either way, we’re bound to get lost or crash many times along the way, but the point is that each of us is a universe. Just as the stars work in harmony to run the universe, a human as an independent universe himself needs other humans with their own universes. Marguerite’s Theorem is a drama about a defeated and discouraged human being finding her way. It is also a melodrama that arrives through a detour from a distant universe. (LEE Yong Cheol)
