To make ends meet after retirement with her meager pension, Blaga offers Bulgarian language tutoring to immigrants. One day, she falls victim to a voice phishing call, losing her lifelong savings. Faced with a crisis where she can’t even afford to properly decorate her husband’s grave, Blaga abandons her social facade and personal conscience, joining the trap that led her astray. Blaga’s Lessons masterfully portrays the vicious cycle of the weak being exploited in a society ravaged by economic collapse, where they, in turn, exploit others out of desperate survival instincts. This psychological suspense is fueled by a cleverly crafted plot that capitalizes on the societal issue of elderly poverty.
