Stephane is on a quest to find the Gypsy singer Nora Luca, who sang a song that has haunted him since his childhood. On a cold winter night in Romania he meets up with the Gypsy fiddler, isidor, who is grieving because his sone has been jailed by the townspeople. Isidor takes the Parisian Stephane under his wing in the hopes that Stephane can aid in his quest to free his son. Before long Stephane is living in Isodir′s village and learning about the Gypsy culture, Gadjo Dilo tells a story of mistrust, anger and the intense emotional bonds that are common to the people of this culture.
