Program Note
Louise lives in a run-down building, alone in a sheltered world, simply cut off. Her only contacts with the outside world are Julien, her lover from 5 to 7, and her sister Paulette. No longer content with her isolation, she makes an attempt to discover the lives of other people and to alleviate her alienation from the world. She invents a very bizarre game in which she stops passersby at random and makes them an incredible offer - herself. She is all theirs for an hour. Some, believing themselves to be dealing with a lunatic, rufuse. Others squander their change but most are lured by the thrill of such a proposition and secret her away into their own private world.
