Program Note
This film examines the lives of Chinese living in Korea, disabled from change in a changing world. The Chinese landed in Inchon 100 years ago, dreaming of a better life. Yet to this day, they remain minorities deprived of Korean citizenship. When the Korean War struck, geo-political relations between Korea and China and mainland China′s switch to communism prevented the Chinese-Koreans from returning to their homeland. Because they are descendents of Chinese immigrants, they have only their Taiwanese passports. In light of this context, there is no longer a Korean dream.
