Program Note
Joe is a struggling actor who refuses to sacrifice integrity for work. His next-to-nothing income from waiting tables forces him to be financially dependent on his girlfriend Mary who is a beautician. Adding to Joe′s frustration is Bob, a colleague, who becomes a soap star. But Bob has other problems, he is intent of finding a real blonde and he goes through a number of women in his quest. Joe finally does take a humiliating bit-part in a Madonna video and meets Madonna double, Tina. Set against the backdrop of the fashion and entertainment industry, this film portrays the humorous struggle for integrity in industries dominated by superficiality.
