For over a decade, director Ritaban Ghatak extensively researched and compared the life and rituals of the Munda tribe in Chhotanagpur and the Bauls of Bengal, under the guidance of Sanathan Das Baul. While learning the process of visual art from sculptor Meera Mukherjee and artist K.G. Subramanyan, he documented their work.
