Program Note
Red Revolution ends in success and Soviet government is established till Mid-Asia yet the resistance doesn’t stop. Military commander Maxumov finds out that his unit was attacked by the resistance in his absence and that soldiers either surrendered or killed. He walks into the enemy line alone to bring back his soldiers and condemn the resistance. Former Soviet Western films deal with the conflict between the revolutionary army and resistance set in Middle Asia. However their antagonism is not considered that of good and evil. Each side keep their faith and honorable in their belief. The unbiased opposition between two parties provides brilliant tension in the film. (CHO Young-jung)
