This is a documentary-like feature film by Miguel Gomes in which himself and his film crew travel through the rustic Portuguese countryside to participate in several music festivals in August. On the surface, there appears to be no main character, and real bands and characters seem to have been shot without planning, but the film gradually takes the form of fiction in an extremely liberating and unique style. The film is down to earth with its folk music and dances of the countryside. Blurring the lines between reality and fiction is intentional. This second film established Gomes as one of the most original modern artists. (RHEE, Soue-won)
