2008 AND DongSeo Asia Fund A document of a man who tried to protect his home for 10 years. When a sewing machine factory suddenly closes, its laborers lose their livelihoods and homes, which were provide by the company. The majority leave, exhausted from the fight, but one family remains and continues the 10-year battle to protect his home. There are many new skyscrapers surrounding the area now. Amid threats and compromises, he tries to carry on normally, until the final, shocking outcome. The title, [Quarter No. 4/11], is the address of the company building. Though the man lost his job quite suddenly and had to avoid public notice to get into his own home, the home is the man’s last bastion of humanity and pride. As protecting his home means protecting his family, he can smile while filming his family with a camera left behind by a filmmaker. Throughout the 10 years, it captured moments of hope and despair without any filtration. (CHO Young-jung)

Ranu GHOSH
Kolkata native Ranu Ghosh is a cinematographer and director that has worked for the BBC and National Geographic, as well as with acclaimed video artist Marcel Odenbach. Her films as photographer include [Monsoon Railway] (2004), [If It Rains] (2007), [Kolkata Monodosis] (2008), and [The Revolutionary Optimists] (2010). She also directed [Curtain Call] (2005).
