This is a story about three new brides born in the year of the horse. They are all familiar with the saying,‘ women born in the year of the horse have a rough fate,’which has proven true in their lives. Afraid to give birth to daughters in the year of the horse, they refuse to make love. They are later enlightened when they learn that the saying is only a myth. Episodes of their newlywed lives are presented by a narrator. Visual humor ?such as the parody of Napoleon, a couple trying to quench their sexual appetite by working the rice-flour mill, and the strange positions in the yoga sequence supposed to strengthen sexual vitality ? come together with rich music, self-conscious camera movement, and bold sexual lines, to bring about this excellent comical satire. This is the second film in the‘ horse-year’series, between College [Girl Born in the Year of Horse](1963, Lee Hyung-pyo), and [Daughter-in-Law Born in the Year of Horse](1979, Lee Hyung-pyo). It was directed to be promoted in the year of the white horse, which comes around only every 60 years, and was successful. It is also the start of slapstick and modern level B-sex comedy. (KANG Sowon)
