Program Note
Swedish documentarian Anna Juhlin paints a portrait of a Turkish-Swedish poet who is also her grandfather. The film is a story of a poet who photographed major figures, among them Man Ray and Samuel Beckett, and also a portrait of a man who found the magic of poetry not only in black-and-white photographs, but in life itself. Anna JUHLIN
Anna Juhlin is just twenty-one. She made her film debut at the age of 17 with the highly praised six-minute short film [Anna]. She studied photography and film at college. After art studies she started a one year course in ecological gardening. She works with sound installations and also illustrates magazines.
