Program Note
An account of a bank robbery: a single take where over 96 people perform for the camera. The inspiration was actually witnessed by Ruben Tlund and Erik Hemmendorff. Instead of calling the police, the two try to see what’s going on and even film it. And then shots are fired.
Director
Ruben ÖSTLUND
Born in Styrso, Sweden, Ruben Ostlund studied filmmaking at the University of Goteborg. His earliest work in film was based on his personal interest in skiing. Ostlund co-founded Platform Produktion along with Erik Hemmendorff. His filmography includes [Free Radicals](1995–1998), [The Guitar Mongoloid](2004), and [Autobiographical Scene Number: 6882](2005).
