Program Note
Two years after David disappeared suddenly, his family learned that he devoted himself to the Kurdish resistance force. With faith in his decision, the family only hopes to see him again. David, a Swiss, was named after the Kurdish warrior Tolhildin and lives in the mountains. The film doesn’t judge David’s choice of militant resistance, it just shows his daily life learning the Kurdish language and culture as a friend, as a Kurd. It follows the life of a Kurdish resistance fighter who reacts sharply to gunshots, missing his family, and dreaming for the Kurds’ independence in the near future. (CHO Young-jung)
