[Yol] is the first Turkish film that won the Palm d’or at Cannes Film Festival and directed by the master Yilmaz Guney and ?arif Goren. Released from the harsh Turkish prison, five men are heading for their home. However, what awaits them is not the warm embrace of the family but the harsher reality than the prison. Their journey becomes the road that leads to the humanity lost amongst of the oppression and violence. Yilmaz Guney who first projected the Kurd’s life and language on the silver screen becomes the pillar of the Kurdish directors who follow his footsteps and his films become the original form of Kurdish cinema.
