Jose, Paco, Luis, and Enrique gather for a rabbit hunt. Except for Enrique, the three have fought in the Spanish Civil War. This masterpiece by Saura converges all its elements ? the fast pace and dramatic music in the hunt scene, the close-up shots of the characters tossing cutting words, the hunting ground being a Spanish Civil War battlefield ? into an allegory criticizing the Spanish dictatorship.
