[Katka] is a remarkable documentary tracing 14 years in the life of a young junkie and her futile battle with addiction directed by Helena Trestikova, who won a European film Award for Best Documentary of the Year with [Rene] in 2008. In 1996, 19-year-old Katka lives in the Sananim therapy community, hoping for a normal life, yet over the years, spirals into a world of theft, prostitution, physical and psychological deterioration. Then she becomes pregnant will motherhood be a strong enough motivation for to quit using drugs? (Jay JEON)
