Based on a novel by Lee Mun-yeol, [Portrait of the Days of Youth] portrays a teenager growing up, Young-hun has sexual encounters with various women in his life ? a high school sweetheart, a rich heiress from college, and a prostitute from a trip. Winning more than 8 awards including the Best Film Award from Daejong Film Awards in 1991, this remarkable film depicts a universal topic of a young man’s development in a provocative, but unique manner. KWAK Ji-kyun
Kwak was recognized as one of Korea’s best directors with shortly after his debut with [Winter Wanderer](1986). He became famous with [Shock Continues Long](1989) and [Portrait of the Days of Youth](1990). Following a long break after [Plum Blossom](2000), he directed [Fly High](2006) which failed to hit the mark. After his failure, he went back to his hometown and killed himself in May, 2010.
