Program Note
Stranded in a desolate field after a car wreck, a group of young friends go in search of help. Coming to a farmhouse, they think they’ve found sanctuary. Instead they are drawn to the center of a terrifying supernatural ritual. Soon their nightmare begins. A scarecrow somehow comes to a life killing people who are stranded in countryside after a car crash. It sounds like a B-movie in the 70’s, but who cares? It is fun, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I have seen hundreds of horror films like Husk, and many of them were not able to keep me on the edge of my seat because they are either too cheesy or predictable. With that in mind, Husk is a pleasant surprise just like when I saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I can’t wait to see the director Brett Simmons’ next film. (PAK Dosin)
