Program Note
Can Androids fall in love and form a family? In the future of Japan, the human-like robots have come in use, whose appearance is districted from human only by its ring over the head. A high-school student Rikuo considers Androids just as useful household appliances. One day, however, he found a strange behavior of his housemaid android. Following the path of his android, he found an eye-opening ghetto named Time of Eve which permits no discrimination between humans and robots.
Robot Ethics Committee manages to dictate how different the general public should treat androids as non-humans, but more and more people are becoming "android-holics" emotionally attached to them. Eventually the committee decides to search and destroy androids which are too human by other androids. The cliche is familiar as seen in various science fiction novels and films, whereas the way of winning the sympathy by daily episodes as well as to call attention by exaggerated special effects makes this animation charming enough.
