The synopsis says, “a story about love and hatred, about those who cheat and who are cheated, about violence and sex and surprising secrets which we learn within these strange twenty-four hours.” However, this introduction is no help to explain the movie’s uniqueness and eccentricity, since it only explains the ‘what’ as in other mainstream films, rather than the ‘how’. It is impossible to make an adequate summation of specific characters, the main character, or the plot of this movie ? it’s a movie about multi-characters and multi-plots.
It is no exaggeration to say that a film which connects the beginning and end is the model of a narrative text ? the so-called post-modernistic mask. The film rejects a general understanding focusing on the narrative. It’s important to follow the path of the characters rather than to make efforts to build the framework of the events. In many aspects, it reminds the viewer of the Hungarian Gyorgy Palfi’s fearsome full feature debut film, Hukkle. Along with [All that I Love] being showcased in Open Cinema, this film is proof of the energy currently present in modern Polish films.
