A mother’s struggle to understand her son is at the heart of this compassionate documentary about autism. Journeying from country to country, each location offers a new level of comprehension on the increasingly common condition, as well as radically opposing ideas on it. Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, Fridrik Thor Fridriksson is a self-taught filmmaker whose career began in experimental and documentary film, and he is the founder of the influential Icelandic Film Corporation. His filmography includes [Niceland: (Population 1.000.002)](2004), [Falcons](2002), [Angels of the Universe](2000), [Cold Fever](1995), and the award-winning [Children of Nature](1991)
