Program Note
Having dealt with the issue of coal mines in Sabook, the director now poses the insightful question of point of view, the fundamental element of cinema. The film utilizes the form of ‘interviews’, which is one of the most conventional methods used in documentaries to show the relationships between the points of view of the documentary camera, the audience, the one who shoots and the object of the shot. It also makes use of an experimental style that transcends genre as it weaves in and out from Korea, that the ‘I’ is familiar with, and Nepal, which is an unfamiliar space.
