This short film is directed by Salome Alexi, a descendant of the three-generation-long female filmmaker family. Tamara works as an illegal immigrant in Italy, and when her husband dies in her Georgia home, all she can do is wail on the phone. The mourning for the dead bears a special meaning in Georgia, and Tamara’s mourning on the phone portrays the immigrant’s life and sufferings from an ironic and unusual perspective. At a time when a number of people cross borders to find a job, this film paradoxically asks if the “felicita (happiness)” they pursue deserves the sacrificing of their lives and the lives of their families.
