Program Note
A number of people gather at a small town school for a film casting. In a series of interviews disguised as auditions, people aged between 15 to 23 stand before the camera and share their life stories including: a boy waiting for his father’s surgery; a young woman getting married soon; and an experience of finding one’s biological mother. Some talk to themselves. Others sing to unravel their personal stories that shed light on the chronic poverty and diseases of Georgian society, as well as express their dreams and hopes. This documentary was awarded at Sundance Film Festival 2013. (KIM Young-woo)
