Program Note
Andrew is a millionaire detective novelist, and Milo is the unemployed actor who ran off with his wife. He has come to enquire whether Andrew will agree to divorce. On the contrary, Andrew has been waiting for this moment to put his flair for devising the perfect crime into practice. What better motive than his own cheating spouse and what better place than his own isolated country house? Milo may have seduced his wife but Andrew is determined to have the last laugh. Sleuth is a re-make film of same titled film directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz in 1972. Interestingly enough, Michael Caine who plays Andrew in new version of Sleuth played Milo with Laurence Olivier as his antagonist in the old one. (Dosin PAK)
